SWEET MARIE BARS

 

These are not good for your body - but they are good for the soul on a cold winter night, when you need something sweet - fast.

Replace peanut butter with Soy Nut butter - you will never know the difference and they can be sent to school as a special treat.

 

  • ½ cup peanut or No Nut Butter*
  • ½ cup corn syrup (or maple syrup* for a runnier version)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp butter*
  • 2 cups rice crispie cereal
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

 

Blend first 4 ingredients in metal bowl over hot water. Mix in rice crispies. Pack into a greased 8” square pan. Cool. Melt chocolate chips with a little water in pan on stove or microwave. Cover pan with melted chips. Cool. Enjoy!!!
